College of Business at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology
(KAIST) in Seoul, South Korea, invites applications for a position in
accounting for an appointment beginning September 1, 2020, March 1, 2021, or
September 1, 2021. The rank and area are open.
Candidates
for Assistant Professor should have completed or nearly completed their Ph.D.,
and must demonstrate capacity to undertake scholarly research publishable in
leading academic journals and be able to provide quality teaching. Candidates
for senior positions should demonstrate a substantial research record and
evidence of teaching excellence.

KAIST
College of Business in Seoul is a highly research-oriented school. The school
has MBA, MS, and Ph.D. programs (no undergraduate program). The school provides
light teaching loads (6 credit hours/year for the first 3 years and 9 credit
hours/year for 4+ years), paid sabbatical leave (one year of sabbatical leave
after every four years), and free on-campus housing for two years (below-market
rent for 3+ years). Accounting faculty members publish in leading accounting
and finance journals such as The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and
Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, and Journal of Financial Economics.
The school has access to most major databases (WRDS, Compustat, CRSP, I/B/E/S,
Datastream/WorldScope, Bloomberg, SDC, TAQ, Thomson Reuters, Option Metrics,
Asset4, KLD, etc.) and Korean local financial databases.
